The collected data were analyzed using a content analysis and a melody structure analysis. A total of four women who were cultural activists in the age range of 37-76 years of age took part in the current study. This study adopted a qualitative approach using several instruments, i.e., semistructured interviews and recording tools, for data collection. Therefore, this study aimed to examine the oral literature by translating and transforming the Pisaan oral literature into lyrics and musical elements to educate future generations. Although a considerable amount of oral literature research has been conducted in the Indonesian context however, to our best knowledge, little research has been paid to Pisaan oral literature, which plays an essential role in the Lampung community. One of the oral pieces of literature that exists in Indonesia is Pisaan, an oral tradition that can be found in Lampung, a province located on the southern tip of the island of Sumatra. Moreover, in Indonesia, a country with multilingual and multicultural contexts, the study of oral literature has become an important aspect of investigation. Our approach outperforms existing works by a large margin, indicating its effectiveness in IPT detection.Ī large body of data concerning oral literature around the globe have been reported. The multi-scale network extracts features from different scales, and the self-attention mechanism applied to the feature maps at the coarsest scale further enhances the long-range feature extraction. Because different IPTs vary a lot in their lengths, we propose a new method to solve this problem using multi-scale network and self-attention. We create a new dataset, Guzheng\_Tech99, containing Guzheng recordings and onset, offset, pitch, IPT annotations of each note. In this paper, we formulate it as a frame-level multi-label classification problem and apply it to Guzheng, a Chinese plucked string instrument. However, most of the existing works for IPT detection only concern monophonic music signals, yet little has been done to detect IPTs in polyphonic instrumental solo pieces with overlapping IPTs or mixed IPTs. Instrument playing technique (IPT) is a key element of musical presentation.
